Brendan Rooney

Brendan attended Floral Park Memorial High School where he was a 4 year Varsity starter in both lacrosse and football. He played midfield/attack and played quarterback and running back. While playing he earned 2x All County in lacrosse and football. He was a 2x Captain for both the lacrosse and football team. His teams made the playoffs every year. Brendan earned All- Conference Academic Team. Brendan was named Team MVP in Lacrosse and Football his senior year. He was selected to play in the Senior Bowl. He was awarded the  Distinguished Student/Athlete award senior year of high school. He won a National Championship with Nassau CC. He then attended and Captained Virginia Wesleyan. He Received MVP and Captains award his senior year. After college, Brendan with the help of friends started the Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School lacrosse program in 2012. He immediately made an impact making it to the playoffs in year two after going 0-17 in the 1st season. Several of those students went on to play college lacrosse. Brendan was selected US Lacrosse Coach of the year 2015. He then took over as Head Coach of Malverne/ East Rockaway 2016. He has been most recently coaching travel lacrosse at the 2024 and 2029 level as well as running training sessions. He has been the Asst Coach/ Offensive coordinator for Saint Dominics High School for the past four years in which the team has won the state class A championship two times the Long Island Class AA this past season. Brendan has also been named the Head Coach for Saint Dominic’s High School lacrosse team. He has a passion for the game!!

Tom Mansfield

Tomis a Long Island native who attended Gordon Purdie’s Checkmate summer lacrosse camps throughout his youth. Tom played Defense and Long Stick Midfield at Chaminade High School, where he won two Varsity CHSAA championships, and in his senior year was voted the team’s MVP and a US Lacrosse All American. In college, he played for the US Naval Academy’s Varsity Lacrosse team, where he was a three year starting Defenseman and Long Stick Midfielder, a key contributor to Navy’s 2009 Patriot League Championship team and was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. After graduating college, Tom served for five years as a Nuclear Submarine Officer in the US Navy.

Kellenberg Lacrosse:

- 2019 AA Long Island Championship 

- 2017 FOA national showcase participant. (Placed top 20)

- 77% FO win percentage across 54 game high school career with 1132 total faceoffs taken. 

- Recruited by 23 D1,D2,D3 colleges to play. (Chose rotc instead)



- Detachment 560 (located at Manhattan college). 

- 2021 Iron man award recipient. 

- Commanders scholarship recipient (awarded to top preforming cadet)



- Mechanical Engineering (at SUNY Farmingdale)- 3rd year
